Joe Klein  has been a driving force at Klein Steel since 1971.  He founded the North American Steel Alliance, a co-operative of independent metal service centers in North America. He also currently serves on the boards of the Center for Governmental Research, Jewish Family Service of Rochester, and is Treasurer of the True North Rochester Prep Charter School.  Selected as the Rochester Business Person of the Year in 2006 by the Rochester Alliance, Joe remains an outspoken advocate for public education, job growth in New York State, and laws that support small business.

John Batiste became President of Klein Steel after retiring from the Army as a major general in November, 2005.  John was commissioned as an infantry officer in 1974. Over the next 31 years, he served in a variety of leadership and staff positions, including platoon, company, battalion, brigade, and division command. His major combat and peace enforcement experience included deployments to Saudi Arabia and Iraq,  Bosnia-Herzegovina, and again to Kuwait and Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.  John is a member of the board of the Rochester-based Veterans Outreach Center and the Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired-Goodwill, is the president of the Rochester Regional Veterans Business Council, and serves as a member of the New York State Veterans Affairs Commission.

Come see an example of a Great Company of the likes described in Jim Collins’s 2001 book Good to Great.
